The Motorized Kayak, or MOKAI

The MOKAI is a gas-powered, human-operated kayak, designed with recreational fishermen in mind. In our lab it is used as platform for situating a human operator in the field alongside robotic platforms. It is large and stable enough to deploy computer, communications and sensor equipment on board with the operator. Typically a deployed platform appears on the pavilion operational display as just another node alongside robotics platforms.
