Talk-22: Development of the Sea Machines Unmanned Work Boat

Alex Lorman, Sea Machines

The Sea Machines V1 is an unmanned Workboat, with man in the loop oversight, being developed in Boston. The goal of the V1 is to provide a small, yet heavy duty, commercial work platform which can replace manned work boats in hazardous or tedious operations. Initial applications include boom towing for oil spill recovery, fire fighting, survey work, and gateway/comms buoy applications. Discussion to include current status of the V0.1 prototype vehicle, future efforts of collaborative barge handling, and opportunities to use MOOS-IvP in conjunction with Jay Bridge Robotics autonomy software.
