Talk-21: Distributed MCM Simulation with MOOS-IvP

Mission Systems recently delivered a prototype mine countermeasures (MCM) simulator to the Australian Navy based on MOOS-IvP. The S4 simulator is a distributed system which uses the MOOS middleware in ways which may not have been envisioned by its creator. In the course of integrating and demonstrating the system, we struck many interesting problems, all of which we were able to solve satisfactorily within the limitations of our hardware. This talk concerns the architecture and capabilities of S4 and some feature requests which we think might help us with the next phase of the project.
