Talk-38: A Simple MOOS Controller on the iPad

Taylor Gilbert, MIT CSAIL

As a fourth year undergraduate working for Prof. John Leonard this summer, I developed an application for the iPad with the ability to provide simple manual control and to post the IvP commands for Deploying and Returning the vehicle from a mission. Based on earlier work by Ian Baldwin at Oxford University, this application incorporates Apple's Cocoa UI package for the iOS and features a simple viewer of the vehicle's position in x, y space. As the iPad also has a built-in GPS, the application posts the iPad's location to the MOOSDB for use by other clients.
