The WAM-V by Marine Advanced Research, Inc.

The WAM-V Unmanned Surface Vessel was originally donated to MIT by ONR for MIT's participation in the 2014 International Maritime RobotX Competition. The competition was held in Singapore in October 2014. Our students took first place in the competition. Post-competition the vehicle has been used by MIT Sea Grant on a project for autonomous coastal sampling. When it's not in Massachusetts Bay it typically lives at the Marine Autonomy Lab. We expect/hope this vehicle to be joined by second sister vessel for the December 2016 competition in Hawaii.
