Aquaticus - Phase 1 Test Plan

Phase 1: December 2015 - March 2016:

• The competition structure will be tested first in simulation.
• The human-operated vehicle will be simulated with a human controlling a platform with a joystick.
• Initial tests will gauge: (a) appropriateness of the competition rules and rewards, (b) relative influence of the human vs robot teammate during competition, (c) the level of autonomy needed for having a suitably competitant robot teammate, (d) reported level of enjoyment or engagement of the operators.
• Feedback will allow us to re-tool the structure and the software prior to Summer 2016 tests.
• Requires MIT "Approval to Use Humans as Experimental Subjects" permission.
